![]() ![]() Keep in mind that there are several ways of completing these scenarios, but here are my advice as to how to beat them the way I found to be the easiest one. The walkthroughs for the following campaigns will soon be posted.
German Campaign
1: Cavalry of The Sky
Timeline: Summer 1915
Epoch: Industrial
The first thing you should do here is to go east to the Polish farm. North of here is a Russian barracks, and some bad guys will approach you. Of course, that will be the last mistake they ever made. Unfortunately, Manfred is out of bullets, so he will have to go on without fighting for a while. When you return to the farm, you will gain control of three citizens. Use them to cut down the three blocking the path west.
Now you have to photograph 4 Russian sites, one of these sites is just north of you. It would be a good idea to go northeast now, where you will find another site, just before the lake. In here, you will find a map, revealing the locations of the other sites, plus a weapon for Count Holck and bullets for Manfred. Now they're armed and ready to kick ass! But they still have 2 more sites to photograph. It's not hard at all, just advance west, passing through any site you may see. Don't worry about a few units spotting you; you are much stronger than them. After accomplishing this, you will assume command of a few military buildings, as well as a small army. Build some artillery, howitzers, machine gunners, grenade launchers and infantry, and you should have no problem in breaking through the Russian blockade just east of you.
Bring Manfred and Holck to the base. Don't worry if they get hit by the pillboxes, they should have enough hit points to reach Prince Friedrich. Just use your army to kill off the Russian troops. When Manfred and Holck reach the Prince, you have won.
2: Supply and Demand
Timeline: Winter 1915 - 1916
Epoch: Atomic - WW1
Here all you have to do is to make sure that 20 transports reach your docks. It's actually harder than it sounds, but don't be discouraged. As long as you're prepared for the British attacks, you'll do fine. You should build quite a few docks right away, so that the transports can start bringing war material before the British start attacking them. The most important places to have docks and naval yards are just west of Denmark, and at the west coast, where your mines are. You should start gathering wood immediately; you should also build a settlement near the mines. Build a granary right south of the Danish border, which will be the safest place. Also, make sure you build towers and AA at the west coast.
This area will be under attack, so guard it with cruisers, battleships and subs. You'll also need to guard the transports. The southern route will constantly be under attack by planes and battleships in particular, so send subs, cruisers, battleships and a few frigates (in case they have subs) to the starting point for those transports. Also build an airport if you want, and set the rally points to where the ships are.
The northern route will not be that well guarded by the British. The will not send planes up there, but they always send battleships there, so it would be a good idea to position a few subs and battleships around the north western area of the Danish coast. Don't bother trading with Denmark, though, it's really not worth it. If you want, you can send a sub to the British coast, but I found that I didn't really need it. If you succeed in this, the British air traffic will be halted, which can be really helpful, but their planes are not really that annoying in this scenario and it's so easy to shoot them down.
Keep making new ships all the while, as well as more planes. With enough of them it will be no problem to defeat the British navy, especially not on the northern route. When 20 transports have successfully reached port, you will have emerged victorious.
Germany now has the supplies they need to fight in the war…
3: The Red Baron
Timeline: Spring 1916
Epoch: Atomic - WW1
Okay, this scenario is extremely hard. It took me 5 hours to beat it and I had to save the game all the time. Destroying each fort is a real pain in the ass, and the French will attack you all the time. They repeatedly send planes and troops at you, so defend your base well. Use an engineer to build pillboxes to the northwest, where you have a barracks and a siege factory. You might want to have an AT gun up there for the annoying tanks the French will send you. Build a settlement near your mines, and use 6 citizens on each mine, and a few villagers on the stone mine. Also have 5 or 6 villies to gather wood, and build 2 granaries. You should use the artillery spotter balloon on Vaux; the fort just south of you, to limit the attacks from the south. I didn't use planes to assist my troops much, I just had them flying outside my base, to protect against planes and troops.
You should build a huge army consisting of partisans, grenade launchers, infantry, machine gunners, trench mortars, artillery and howitzers. Upgrade their attack, range and hit points, Upgrade range, attack and splash damage for the artillery. Make sure you build an extra barracks and siege factory south of the capitol. Bring plenty of partisans for the annoying planes. You can, if you wish, bring your own planes to their bases, but make sure you destroy their AA with your artillery first. There are French barracks's outside your base, so you should destroy them first. Just south of Douaumont there are other French bases; first you will see two barracks's, and just west of Souville, there are tank factories, siege factories and 2 airports. If you can destroy them, it will make things a lot easier. It will probably take several tries, though, so when your army is attacking, build a new army in the meantime so that you're constantly attacking the French.
Outside Douaumont, there are towers and AA, so destroy them before even thinking about their wall. Approach the fort from the south, where their barracks's were. There will be annoying artillery there, by the way, so be sure to destroy them first. Use howitzers to take down their gate and when the AA is down, have Manfred fly over the base and destroy whatever artillery you can, before too many fighters show up. Constantly rebuild your army, and bring partisans for air, machine gunners for infantry and howitzers and artillery for buildings. Of course, the artillery is most effective against infantry though, but they are pretty good against buildings too. Destroy the siege factories first, to stop their artillery production. After numerous attempts, their fort will be destroyed. Your planes can help you out a great deal, but never underestimate the power of your partisans. With enough of them, planes will no longer be a threat to you. This will take several waves, but every time you attack, the French will grow weaker. Keep in mind that the French never rebuild or repair damaged buildings, which you should be eternally grateful for.
Remember to repair or rebuild pillboxes in your own camp all the while. With a lot of their vital buildings down, the French will be much weaker and more discouraged. When you move to attack Souville, go to where the airports were, destroy the towers with cannons and artillery, and destroy segments of their north wall, so that you may enter. Manfred can help you destroy any artillery it might contain. Destroy the siege factories, the barrack's, the castle keep and the tents, and it will all be over. Almost.
The Anti-R flyers are a piece of cake compared to what you have just been through. Have all of your planes rally above your capitol, which is surrounded by AA. Manfred is too strong to be killed by these guys; either he or the AA will shoot them down.
The Germans have gained complete control of the Verdun sector…
4: The Somme
Timeline: 1918
Epoch: Atomic - WW1
This scenario, if possible, is even harder than “The Red Baron”. But there is a relatively easy way to beat it.
In the beginning, you should take advantage of your unlimited resources to build military buildings and upgrade all your units. Build 2 extra airports, two barracks's, one tank factory, one siege factory and a hospital in the build-up area Protect your base with snipers and AT-guns, one set outside the southwest and another outside the northwest. Have your planes rally outside your base as well. Artillery is the most important land unit here, so build about 8 or 10 of them. There is no need to bother with howitzer cannons. Build about 20 Albatros fighters and a couple of bombers, as well as 10 tanks, some infantry, machine gunners, mortars, grenade launchers, engineers and partisans. You don't need a very big infantry army; most of the fighting will be in the air. Also, build A LOT of AA-guns near your coast, and some west of your base. Cover the west side with pill boxes as well. Also build a dock at the coast, and build a battleship and 2 transports.
When you've reached your pop cap, have your planes fly to the west, where there is a British base. Move your artillery out, and target the airports when they are visible. Don't forget to move out your infantry as well, but leave your tanks at the base. You can't afford to lose them now. When that base is destroyed, move your planes a little south, and destroy the British buildings there. Build a settlement near the resources and mine stone and put one or two citizens on gold. Use your engineers to block the southern bridge with barbed wire and pillboxes. In you base, you should also build a granary, and have about 5 citizens to cut wood. If you run short on wood, you can have more citizens gather wood.
Now move all of your troops to the dock, and use your battleship to take out sea mines and AA. There is one it can't reach, so use Manfred to take out that one. Have all your fighters fly over the land area to destroy enemy aircraft, then transport all your troops across the river, as well as 5 citizens. When everyone is on the other side, take out buildings with artillery, and crush all opposition. When Peronne is in your control, use your citizens to build AA, one barracks, one siege factory if need be, and 2 airports. Do not build a barracks in the TC area yet. If you do this you will lose Manfred, and make the rest a lot more difficult for you. Build a settlement and upgrade it into a TC.
Rebuild your air force to about 20 fighters and 3 bombers, and then send them over to your newly created airports. Have the bombers in one airport and the fighters in the other. Have the fighters fly around the base, and fly Manfred over to the mountains to the southwest and the south east. There are 4 artilleries on each mountain, and they must be destroyed. Roye is positioned south of you, and if you move your troops down there, enemy bombers will kill you. To take care of this problem, I had engineers move down the road and build AA to cover the entire road. (Use a citizen to position a building somewhere, cancel action and have the engineers build it instead). You will need about 4 engineers. Build tons of AA, some pillboxes along the road to take care of doughboys until absolutely no bombers can attack the AA. While you're doing this, be sure to have planes fly over the engineers. When you reach the barbed wire near the bottom, build 3 or 4 pillboxes, which will take care of the troops standing there. This area is very exposed to planes, so build extra many AA there. Also use your engineers to build a hospital right behind the pillboxes and move all your troops down there. Remember to have a unit standing near the airports so that it won't be disabled. Peronne will no longer be attacked, so keep your citizens there and use them to “command” the engineers to build buildings.
To defeat Roye, move the planes over the city, advance your partisans and use artillery to destroy the buildings. Now you can move all the tanks and troops towards Roye and crush the last pockets of resistance. Use the engineers to build an airport, a barracks and a hospital in Roye. Now you might as well build the barracks's in Peronne and Roye, since Peronne will be invaded as you attack Montdidier.
Park all your planes in the airport in Roye, and ready your troops. Montdidier is though and requires excellent timing, so save the game before you advance. You should kill some citizens to free up the pop count, and bring a couple of howitzers with you. Bring a lot of AT-guns and grenade launchers as well. First have your planes take out as many aircraft of theirs as you can on the field of battle between Roye and Montdidier, and while they're on their way, move all your troops towards Montdidier. You should attack the city from the south. Use your anti-tank squadron to kill of the tanks, while your infantry deals with military buildings and other troops. Have all your artillery and howitzers take out the TC, and use your engineers to build a barracks on the site. The siege of Montdidier should not take long and it shouldn't be difficult. When the barracks is completed, you will have emerged victorious =)
End of World War 1...
5: Lightning Warfare
Timeline: 1939-1940
Epoch: Atomic - WW2
This scenario is actually a lot easier than one would think. Here you will have to destroy the capitols in Poland, France and Norway. You have to be a little quick though, as you only have 80 minutes to do this. It should be more than enough time; I did this in less than an hour. Before you declare war on Poland, build more military buildings and protect the Reichstag and the entire French border with AA-guns. The British will attack from the northeast, so build a few pillboxes there as well. Build a naval yard on the north shore and build about 4 or 5 submarines. Tanks are essential here, so build about 15 panzers. Also protect the northeast border with 4 anti-air tanks. Bring a well balanced army, with a lot of bazookas for the enemy's tanks, artillery, howitzers and engineers and produce about 10 bombers and 10 fighters. When you're ready, move your troops over to the border, and declare war on Poland. Poland is easy to beat, mostly because they're still in WW1.
Use artillery for the troops, bazookas for the tanks and take down the capitol with your howitzers. You can use planes if you want, but I found that it wasn't really necessary. Have 5 citizens ready to build a settlement where the capitol was, and upgrade it. As soon as you have you TC Poland will stop attacking you, so just withdraw your troops to your hospital. Start gathering iron immediately, and use your new resources to expand your army a bit. You might find it advantageous to build a coliseum.
Now have your planes rally over France, right behind the north-eastern border, and declare war on France. There are lots of military buildings northeast of you, so take them out with your howitzers and kill the enemy troops. Build a few AA there using your engineers. When you move over the river, there will be more enemy troops and a lot more planes, so make sure your planes are rallying near the monuments. After the military buildings and the monuments are gone, move 5 citizens towards your army while you destroy their capitol. It's a good idea to build AA in that area, since a lot of planes pass through that area. After you have your TC up, you can upgrade your town centres into capitols for civ points. After this, France will cease to attack you, so move your troops back to your hospital.
Before attacking Norway, build a lot of howitzers and move up to the Danish border, and declare war on them. Use your cannons to take out the tank factory and the towers in Denmark. There are quite a few battleships in the channel, so send all your subs up there and use your cannons and artillery to sink the ships. Use your engineers to build AA and a hospital in Northern Denmark if you wish, and send 5 citizens up there. Now use the howitzers to take out the remaining towers, and bomb the Norwegian bastards while sending all your troops into Oslo. Take out the capitol as quick as you can, and when the TC is up, you've won. That wasn't so hard, was it?
Central Europe is in Germany's command...
6: Preparations for Invasion
Timeline: 1940
Epoch: Atomic - WW2
Start with building AA-guns along your shore, and mine wood, gold and iron. Have 6 citizens on each mine. Don't bother with stone or food; you will not need any land units. Build an air force consisting of at least 10 bombers and 10 fighters at first, and improve your air force later in the game, when you have more resources. While you're doing this, build a formidable navy, consisting of 5 battleships, 5 or 6 cruisers, and about 10 submarines. Britain never uses subs, so don't bother with frigates. Like the air force, you will have to build additional ships later on, and also build a dock in the channel, to heal and to build ships.
You want to have about 5 u-boats lying between Ireland and England to sink the convoys and collect resources. The subs will be safe for now; Britain won't build frigates till later. For each convoy you sink, you will receive 250 of each resource.
When you have enough warships, use your battleships to take out frigates, AA and docks, your subs to take out battleships and your cruisers to take out planes. You need to keep your fleet together at all times. Same thing works with the planes. Use you bombers to take out remaining AA, and bomb capitols and town centres, since the citizens will build new docks, and bomb docks and airports as well. Remember that you can use Irish docks to heal your ships. You can also use your battleships to take out airports. Destroying airports is optional, but it is recommended, so that you don't have to deal with those annoying planes.
When the Bismarck is complete, group it with a few battleships and start wreaking havoc with it! Keep it close to a dock, since it is likely to sustain a lot of damage. If you lose the Bismarck, you will lose the scenario. When most of the airports are gone, you can use your bombers freely to bomb the remaining docks. Build a lighthouse to help you locate the remaining ships and the British Home Fleet. When all the ships are destroyed, send all of your ships and planes far west to the Home Fleet. They have a carrier, so try to take that one out first. Using your subs to take out battleships and your battleship to take out remaining ships, the fleet should be destroyed in moments. If you fail, you need but make more ships, although it should not be necessary.
London is in ruins, and Great Britain can soon be invaded...
7: Operation “Sea Lion”
Timeline: 1941
Epoch: Atomic - WW2
First thing you want to do is to improve your fighters and bombers with your Civ Points, and build 4 transports. Place your ships in 3 groups, and place your planes in different groups, each group containing fighters and bombers. Place rally points over the water, and when you're ready, bomb the British AA, some of their airports, ships, radar centres, their troops and most of the barbed wire. Also move your ships to the shore and attack coastal defences as well. The drop planes can be used to unleash paratroopers upon the English troops, which is pretty effective :-) When your land units arrive, move them up to the transports, and place all the land units in different groups. When the coast has been cleared, transport them across the channel, but don't move them further inland yet. Instead, wait for more reinforcements and keep bombing buildings.
When you have a pretty big army waiting in England, start moving north towards Buckingham Palace. Use your artillery and bombers to destroy the southern corner of the wall. Never mind the AA; you should be able to get by them. When a part of the wall is destroyed, use your tanks to take out the AA and move your Flak panzers into the red- marked area to eliminate planes. Be sure to have 5 citizens or more waiting by the transports, and bring them over. When the Palace is down, build a Town Centre inside the walls and some spies should appear south of Paris. Bring them over, and have them convert some military structures, if you haven't already destroyed them :-) It would be most wise to at least keep a hospital intact, so that you can heal your tanks.
If you wish, you can destroy the American carrier to obtain civ points. The carrier won't start producing Corsairs right away, so send all of your bombers over there and bomb it into oblivion. The Americans won't put up too much resistance, so destroying the U.S. buildings in Wales should not be a problem. I didn't lose a single unit while taking over England, and had no problem beating America afterwards. Send all of your troops and planes over to Wales, and kill any American citizens and troops while taking down buildings. When you have done that, the German campaign is over.
Germany has conquered all of Europe, and is now invincible...
